Sleep Consultancy

What is Sleep Consultancy?

Sleep consultancy is a service offered to support parents/caregivers with the sleep difficulties of children and young people. At Leapfrog Therapies, we use a behavioural basis for treating such difficulties, alongside a compassionate awareness of Attachment Theory and other parenting research.

Who is Sleep Consultancy for?

Appropriate for children and young people between 2-25 years who are experiencing behavioural sleep disturbances, such as behavioral insomnia, parasomnia, sleep-wake schedule disorders and nocturnal enuresis (bed-wetting). This is not appropriate for children or young people with a medical reason for sleep disturbances, although it may sometimes be possible to work alongside a paediatrician or medical sleep specialist.

How is Sleep Consultancy carried out?

Natalie, Senior Consultant and Company Director, will work closely with parents/caregivers to assess behavioural functions of bedtime resistance and/or night-time waking and then design an individualised program to address these. This will commonly involve meeting at home, phone/video calls and data collection. On occasion, a Behavioural Therapist may temporarily also support parents/caregivers with the bedtime routine and/or nighttime waking recommendations. This may be a standalone service or embedded as part of behavioural support or an early intervention program.
